The Board of the Foundation for the preservation of historical works visit the Citadel.
The Board of the Foundation for the Conservation of Historic Heritage of Navarre, with its chairman, the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Juan Ram??n Corpas, the mayor of Pamplona, Yolanda Barcina, and the Director of Works and Strategic Projects, visited this Valdenebro Jose morning rehabilitation works being carried out in the citadel of Pamplona. The investment is three years (2009 to 2011) for the whole of the Citadel. The Government of Navarra's work contributes to 6 million euros, 55 percent of the budget,Environment_and_Vertice_Film_production9, the Ministry of Public Works provides a 25 per cent of it and the remaining 20 percent,Authorized_the_hiring_of_then, the city of Pamplona.
During the visit we observed the restoration of the Santa Clara Revellin, also called San Francisco Javier. These works represent act on 6638 meters of wall, and include, besides the ravelin, the covered way, the counter and counterguard.
After the first phase of work, which began on 24 July, the vegetation has been cleared of the paintings have been removed the upper courses of the stones that appeared in worse shape and is rebuilding the parapet of the counterguard. To conclude this action is scheduled to be given to the area of a new irrigation system and decorative lighting using spotlights buried in the trenches. The completion of the work is scheduled for summer 2010.
